Schedule your blood donor screening

Canventa Life Sciences is an appointment-only clinic. We do not accept walk-ins. In addition, no minor guests or animals allowed in the center.

All new donors receive a $20 gift card as a thank you for learning about our program.

Schedule a blood donor screening and learn how you can help advance medical research and be paid for your time! By donating with our friendly team in Emeryville, you can help provide scientists with the material needed to discover new drugs and therapies for cancer and autoimmune disorders.

More appointments are added on a weekly basis. If nothing is available, please check back in a week. If you do not see an appointment time listed in the calendar that works for your schedule, please call us at 510-495-0232 and we will try to accommodate your schedule.

Please be advised that the Initial Donor Screening appointment is a necessary step in joining our Paid Donor program and involved the collection of a small sample of blood.  You may not schedule your first donation with Canventa until the blood test results from the Initial Donor Screening are completed (about a 1-week process).

Eligibility

To become a donor in our program, you will need to:

  • Be between 18 and 55 years old
  • Weigh at least 120 lbs and have a BMI less than 40. You may calculate your BMI here.
  • Be in excellent health and have no history of underlying health conditions such as:
    • Autoimmune diseases such as eczema or MS.
    • Have a history of seizure disorder
    • Thyroid issues
    • Currently pregnant or pregnant in the past 6 months
    • Cancer
    • Diabetes (Type 1 or 2)
    • Heart, lung, kidney, or liver problems
    • Hepatitis B or C or HIV, or currently taking PrEP 
  • Be a US citizen
  • Have a valid government-issued driver’s license, ID, or U.S. passport
  • Be able to commit to your set appointment time!

The health and safety of our donors is our highest priority.

If you have any flu-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks, please give us a call at 510-495-0232 before arriving at your scheduled appointment so that we can talk to you about when it will be safe for you to donate.

Please note: if it has been more than 6 months since the last time you donated with us, your lab work has expired and you are no longer a current donor.
